Vignette/Portrait: Tuanku Abdul Rahman, The First Yang Di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia
Among of all Third Design of RM50 notes, this is the one which command the highest value among all. Currently according to K.N Boon catalogue (2008), an uncirculated piece of this note is valued at a whooping price of RM380, which is quite overvalued I think. But still, nowadays a piece of this note very seldom seen being sell at price around RM100. Having only 3 prefixes, that makes this note quite scarce in the market.
Luckily I am not into replacement notes. Acquiring a replacement note of this series must have cost me an arm and a leg!

I am actually interested to buy this note at RM380 if you can get it for that price.

I am willing to take 10 pieces or more at this exhorbitant price, as per what you have written, of RM380 a piece.

Nice note you have here.
Collecting banknotes? Costly affair?
Ya, at times, walking into a dealer's shop only to find ourselves crawling out with our wallets badly bruised.
Haha, just joking, but like the saying goes, you can spend all your cash on coins and banknotes and at the end of the day, you will still be left with some money :D
Thanks alot for sharing.
Cheers.

A piece of this note in UNC condition bearing the common Prefix of BH would cost around RM400 to RM450 today.

The Prefix BG98 & BG99 will set you back at around RM600.

The scarce Prefix of BG97 will set you back at around RM800.

Prefix BJ is selling at around RM500 to RM550.

Despite such high prices, very few of this issue in UNC condition appears in the market.

Prices listed in various catalogues are never correct - some are too low & some are too high. What is being transacted on the ground that matters.

Eg, the RM50 50th Anniversary of Independence note that comes with a Folder is catalogued at around RM350 a piece. Can one get one at this price or even at RM400 currently?!
