This is one of the coins which I have recently bought it from a local at Kelantan. It is being reported in Saran Singh's The Encylopaedia of the Coins of Malaysia, Singapore, and Brunei 1400 - 1967 that the Sultan made a handsome profit on this coin as it contained less than ten times the amount of tin used on normal pitis. This triggers large-scale counterfeiting probably by the locals. The counterfeited ones has crude inscriptions.
Rarity level indicated by Saran Singh is Scarce.

Hi mnfaj,
We have a few of these coins which are counterfeits.
Infact these are the first few tin coins acquired and also the last, notwithstanding a Terengganu Jokoh.
So far, dare not to venture further for fear of counterfeits.
Thanks a lot for sharing, mnfaj :)
Hi whycollect,
I could not avoid the temptation to own these tin coins. Haha I think I will just continue to collect tin coin as long as the price is reasonable and I have very minor doubt that the coins are counterfeits.
